Spiritual Growth, Silence and Inner Work
There are seasons in life that don’t look the way you expected.
Not clear.
Not structured.
Not easy to explain.
This has been one of those seasons for me.
I haven’t been posting the way I initially intended, and I realised it’s because I needed to step back and reflect on the direction I’m moving towards.
My children have also been growing and changing, and I’ve found myself more present in those moments rather than documenting everything.
Some seasons require you to be fully in them before you can speak about them.
The Inner Work No One Sees
A lot of this season has been about what’s happening within me.
Not what I’m achieving.
Not what I’m showing.
But how I’m thinking.
How I’m responding.
How I’m choosing to move.
It’s been a season of noticing myself more.
My reactions.
My patterns.
The things I used to tolerate.
The things I no longer want to carry.
I’ve also found myself observing patterns more. Not in a way where I’m trying to analyse people, but in a way that helps me understand how I want to respond and move forward.
Inner work isn’t loud.
It doesn’t come with recognition.
But it changes everything.
Learning to Give Grace
One of the biggest lessons I’ve been learning is how to give grace.
To people.
To situations.
Even to myself.
Not everything needs a reaction.
Not every misunderstanding needs to be corrected.
Not every situation needs to be controlled.
Sometimes people are navigating things you can’t see.
Sometimes you are too.
Grace creates space.
It allows you to step back instead of responding from emotion.
When Silence Becomes Necessary
But I’ve also learned something just as important.
Grace does not mean constant access.
There are moments where silence is necessary.
Not as punishment.
Not as avoidance.
But as protection.
Silence allows you to process.
To reflect.
To realign.
It creates a boundary without needing explanation.
And sometimes, growth requires distance.
Not everything needs to be addressed immediately.
Not everything needs a response.
Spiritual Growth in the Quiet
This season has drawn me closer to God in a quieter way.
Not through big moments.
But through small, consistent ones.
Moments of prayer.
Moments of reflection.
Moments of letting go.
I’ve started to understand that not every season is about doing more.
Some seasons are about becoming more aware.
More aligned.
More grounded.
More still.
Becoming More Intentional
I’ve noticed a shift in how I move.
I pause more before reacting.
I think more about what aligns with me.
I feel less pressure to explain myself.
Not everything needs to be spoken.
Not everything needs to be shared.
There is strength in moving quietly.
What I’m Learning
I’m learning that growth doesn’t always look like progress.
Sometimes it looks like:
• choosing not to react
• giving grace without overextending
• stepping back without guilt
• allowing silence without explanation
It’s not always visible.
But it’s real.
A Reflection
If this season feels quiet for you, it doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
It may mean everything is shifting internally.
Growth isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it’s in the pause.
Sometimes it’s in the silence.
Sometimes it’s in choosing peace over reaction.
Because becoming isn’t just about what you do.
It’s about who you are when no one is watching.
